Some excellent gameplay bugged down by some lacking visuals and, quite honestly, awful writing. Except they decided to make it pretty good at the end for some reason? Perhaps it's just because it was something interesting followed by some awfulness, but the ending is pretty great (save for the Ed Sheeran of course).
Also, Tinkaton. That's all I have to say.

I have never had a game illicit that much of an emotional reaction in a long time. Not as glitchy as people were making it out to be tbh.

lot of bugs, but the damian's story was one of the best in the saga

This game is the definition of good idea, bad execution.

Open world devoid of character and very bad technical issues

Loved playing the game and the dlcs

weirdly good writing actually
also iron valiant is my favorite pokemon

I think that, for most Pokémon fans, you'd be able to overlook all of the technical issues in this game and be able to thoroughly enjoy one of the best Pokémon games in recent memory, however, I am learning about myself that maybe I'm not 'most Pokémon fans', maybe I'm not 'Pokémon fans' at all, maybe the novelty has worn out on me and maybe I can't be arsed with the monotony of the turn based combat and the copium of trying to convince myself that it's absolutely fine for a triple A game to release in an abhorrent buggy state such as this... Sort it out, Game Freak... Palworld is coming for yo ass

high highs and low lows, the school and champion storyline was so mid but the arlan and area zero stuff was peak pokemon

How can I be as obsessed as I am with such a broken game?? It looks bad quite often, but the art style underneath it all is gorgeous. The new Pokémon are fun. The game feels like it’s often fighting against you having a good time, but I’m having a good time?? Story is working for me, the multiple story paths is working for me, I just feel it needed another year in the oven and would’ve been perfect. But as it is? Idk!! The ending even gives Xenoblade vibes. The amount I’m playing it can’t let it be below 8/10

Does it have a bit of jank? Yeah, definitely. But it's not as big of an impact on the experience as people make it out to be, and boy what an experience this game gives you. If nostalgia was easier to break through, this could've easily been my favorite gen. I know a lot of people hard disagree, but this game just reaffirmed to me that Game Freak still has it in 'em.

I feel like this game is just a prototype for future Pokemon games because you see how they are experimenting. I also feel like this game is held back by the switch itself, graphics-wise.

It’s nowhere near as buggy as people say it is, and the story is actually pretty interesting. Mechanically it’s just another Pokémon game which isn’t bad, but they don’t do a lot of creative things with it.

-ugly enemy trainer models sometimes
-minor fps issues
-forced switch mode
-otherwise genuinely one of the coolest games in the series I fucking loved it

My opinion is not skewed by playing older pokemon games because I only really played rse and sw, game works like absolute dogshit on switch but it was fun enough to at least finish the base game.

I've really hit a burnout point with Pokemon. After Legends did everything so right in adapting Pokemon to open world, Violet walked all that back into a messier, less interesting package, Everything people said about Sword and Shield is actually true with this one, an ugly mess only slightly redeemed by a great final act.

Ideia maravilhoso, execução, nem tão boa assim.

played it after it was better, actually enjoyed to a degree

If it wasn't so glitchy it would've been way more enjoyable. Still had fun with it and am enjoying some post-game events.

ive played all gens, this one actually was the one that stuck with me the most.
love this <3

se n tivessem rushado p fazer o jogo seria um dos melhores jogos da nintendo

I honestly can't say why I like this game in comparison to other pokemon games. The open world gameplay is arguably a lot worse than Legends Arceus', but I still found myself enjoying this game. The open ended exploration was pretty fun and pokemon is just inherently suited for an open world. The formula needs severe tweaking though, gyms being fixed level makes zero sense for a game where you can do gyms in any order, the catching should take more elements from legends arceus, and I also miss the actual gameplay challenge of pokemon being dangerous from Legends.

I had to get over the open world, but once I did I enjoyed the game.

this game is the best nothingburger ive ever played
