Terraria offers a vast sandbox of creative possibilities. Dig, mine, and construct to your heart's content in a sprawling 2D world teeming with secrets. Craft ever-more-powerful gear to face an array of challenging bosses, discover hidden biomes, and build structures only limited by your imagination. While the Wii U port's unique GamePad controls take some getting used to, Terraria's blend of exploration, combat, and creative freedom makes it a gem for those who love a sprawling, open-ended adventure.

its a survival crafting game but super ugly

Insane to think that people have considered this game "2D Minecraft" at any point. I don't think there's a indie game that has been given this much time for improvements, and has been clearly given this much heartfelt touch. While the game loop is pretty pre-defined, by the time you get to the end, you feel pretty completed, as it feels like it takes just enough time to complete the game. The developers have also been very involved with getting mods to work with the game with tModLoader, and there's massive mods that were and still are worked on to this day. If you haven't played this game, especially with friends (which takes no effort to set-up by the way), you're missing out.
