Honestly, it's a really cute well, well-polished game that breathes life into its world pretty effectively with lots of art, good music, and a strong cast relative to the game genre. Has a surprising amount of heart related to its main story as well.

That said the polish does a lot of work trying to hide a game that feels like it was pushed out the door a little early. Some aspects of the game feel woefully underbaked, and rather simple fixes are pasted over them. Especially features like horse racing and the back alley which feel disconnected and underwhelming once you've more or less exhausted the routes. Some translation issues here and there, but nothing too awful.

It also runs into the issue this genre has regarding management and agency. You probably have more control than really makes sense and, at the same time, not enough granularity in some areas. Some elements also feel like they stuck around too long and didn't age up with the character, which could once again come back to late trimming to get out the door. It sort of confuses itself with the whole hang-out mechanic and age gap situation with some characters, but it didn't bother me as much as it would others.

Overall it's a pleasant remake of the old Princess Maker formula with a modern paint job that really shines.
