Meu deus, tenho ódios profundos por esse jogo, esta é minha maior decepção em forma de mídia.

For over ten years, up until the release of Monster Hunter Rise and its DLC expansion Sunbreak, this was my most-played game of all time, at 695 hours.

I still have yet to touch the basically-nonexistent postgame story quests.

It came out at the exact right time - 13 year old me saw a full-3D Pokémon game for his fancy new system he got for his birthday, and it was love at first sight. Endless hours were spent catching Pokémon, training them, and battling with friends online.

I didn't even complete the Pokédex, for god's sake!

The only thing this gen and game really have going for them are mega evolution Metagross and Gengar, Aegislash and Chandelure and that's it. Story's very boring, legendary pokemon are bland, and a majority of the pokemon in this gen are boring. Gonna eventually play a different Pokemon game just so I know what a good Pokemon game is.

Such a weird game. I genuinely loved my team (shout out Gogoat) but everything else was really just so middle of the road or annoyingly undercooked (AZ). I might just not be fucking with France tho

I will always love this game and the dislike people have for it has always confused me. It's clear they realized they made to many new pokemon for black/white so there are very few new pokemon. Overall I really like how this game looks and had a lot of fun with it.

Probably the game I’m most fond of even though it’s nowhere near as dark nor challenging as I’d like. Also no endgame. But it feels real good to play and it had character customisation.

Pretty solid and charming game with a world that's fun to explore. Unfortunately, the endgame content is almost non-existent.

o melhor pokemon de 3d so q mais bad-ass 😎😎😎

i am simply adding this to my logs as a mark of respect to the first pokemon game i played, this post is HUGE, so TLDR; you can play this for historic purposes or to see where mega evolutions began

i haven't played this game since i was like 11 or something but i would be lying if i said i did not have the most splendid vibrant wonderful amazing memories of it

the day i discovered wifi on pokemon was a truly fun & inspirational day (i was a slow kid ok it took me a while to figure out how to use the 3ds wifi i'm so smart)

anyways when it comes to if this game still holds up, imo i would have to play it again to see but i have really fond memories of it. warning that its super easy i would not suggest it if you want an actual challenge but i was a stubborn child so you know what it was perfect at the time

decent if you want to see where mega evolutions came from, i unfortunately am not the best for objective opinions here i just really like this game because of when i played it, that experience was definitely 5 so i am giving it 5

so anyways i will part with 2 stories i really like, no these are not relevant to the game's objective quality;

story 1;

so i got a dratini from wonder trade & i showed my dad like 'look i got a dratini' (he had no clue what that was) but i was flexing how it was 'from another player across the world' (yes i discovered 3ds had wifi at this time how did you know?) & i freakin loved that dratini. i didn't know about restaurant grinding at the time (HOW????? I PLAYED THE GAME SO MUCH) so i literally maxed out my battle chateau. i became the richest Y player ever. & i trained my dratini from 1 to 100 all the way into a dragonite; i also on the side had a crazy berry farm going on, with like a ton of sitrus & leppa berries so i'd 'never need pp ups again' (i had like 900 it was crazy) (i remember that route being my favourite, since it had a town nearby with a pokemon centre + battle chateau + grass + cool view + daycare) anyways that's irrelevant & i finally did it. maxed out dragonite. when i put him on offer on a trade? i got my first ever arceus. wow i was STUNNED ( but i gave away my goat D: ) so that was cool

anyways now dragonite is my favourite pokemon, his shiny is good stop lying to yourself, & i still have a dragonite plush from when i was that age :) he has seen better days tho lmao (same for a pikachu plushie i have)

so i REALLY wanted a shiny. i was CRAZY about the idea of getting a shiny. i did EVERYTHING to get one... i could not get one. but finally, i found a shiny............ what was it? was it an amazing masuda method starter? an exciting strong one? no it was a freaking flabebe because i was farming on the route i liked. and i was SO EXCITED LIKE I WENT INSANE I NAMED IT 'SHINY?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?1111!???' <---- forgot the exact distribution of ! ? 1

also i got jumpscared by zapdos when i did that & my heart started pounding sooo that's how i learned the legendary birds were in the game! unpopular opinion zapdos is my favourite one :) he is cool

but every time i tried to trade the flabebe for something epic & cool, we didn't have chat during trades back then. they added this later on thank god. but before you had to catch & nickname pokemon to tell the person what you were looking for oh my goodness i miss the stone age... so because my flabebe, which just so you know, literally the only way you could see it was shiny at a glance were its super tiny blue eyes, so people kept flashing me with the '?' or 'NO' or 'DON'T HAVE' nicknames (why did everyone have caps) because they did not have any shinies to offer me. while i tried offering them MY shiny.

it only registered to me YEARS later why nobody saw my flabebe as shiny... i could've just evolved it into florges its a more obvious shiny lmao

i have way more stories of this game, but i'll cap it off there for now. play it if you;

- want to see where 3D pokemon began
- want to experience mega evolutions in their rawest form
- has some of the better music in pokemon games imo
- want to make your own judgement on if this is where pokemon had its downfall

imo that started in gen 7, but was propelled hugely in g8. but hey, i'm biased, thanks for reading all of this

...god, my nintendogs review will be biblically long

A very good Pokémon-game, but not the best.

I remember Columbus Day weekend 2013 when this game came out my friends and I went HAM and only played it the entire time. Kalos is full of phenomenal ideas that are unfortunately half baked, and a lot of the characters just fucking suck. No way around it. The new pokemon are great for the most part, but very limited. I love the region design, and mega evolutions are peak. Here's to hoping Legends ZA answers the threads XY opened but never elaborated on.

We're entering the time where the 6th generation is beloved after years of hate.

I still think this gen marks the beginning of the end in terms of captivating campaigns. They essentially removed labyrinths and integrated a weaker narrative.

That said, for a 3DS game I think it holds up. OST stands out and mega evolution was an enjoyable gimmick. Easily the newest generation I would go back to the soonest.

I really like this game tbh, I like the Kalos region, some of the new pokemon are cool and I like the character customisation. yeah, it could be a better game but I still enjoy it.

Last game I felt emotionally attached to my Pokemon. Every generation after this felt like I was nourishing my company property with a sense of canned positive vibe.

Loved it as a kid and I still enjoy it going back to it, but this game had so much potential with a Pokemon Z or just having a more enjoyable post game and making the game harder. (This game is WAY too easy)

not even pokemon could make me want to go to france

um dos melhores da franquia sensacional, melhores 600 horas de vida

I was a 6th grader. This game was my life. Still best Pokémon bar none

Personally, I don't care much for the main story, and I can understand the argument that the game feels too easy. But as the Pokemon game with the biggest national-dex, it is very enjoyable to go for the full Pokedex alongside the battletower for completion.

Megas were the coolest gimmick the Pokemon games have come up with and they squander it by only giving them out to pseudo legendaries and dropping the difficulty of the games down to an unprecedentedly low level.

These games are probably my second least favorite or third least favorite in the franchise, the jump to 3D was not to kind to these games and left a lot of aspects lacking within these games.
While good to revisit every once in awhile i cant really rate these games higher then this, nothing about the plot, gameplay or characters really sets it apart from the rest.

Though I've always thought of XY as the weakest of the mainline base titles, in retrospect there are certain things about it that I like and respect about it. In particular, after SV, I appreciate the generic NPC trainer designs (not just Hex Maniac but her too), the great player trainer fashion, and some of the towns.

On the other hand, the music is a lot of bland and generic orchestrated music, a huge step down from the distinct and memorable midi music of previous titles. Only a few tracks are good and they're often only heard in too short of a time.

That sums up the main story and game as well - there's a hint of something interesting here and there, but overall the game is rationed out in too small portions. It says a lot that the short post-game bonus Emma/Looker scenario would have made for a better main scenario than what was actually the main story. And I said that the generic NPC trainers are good, but many of the actual named trainers kind of fall short of being memorable, including most the gym leaders and elite four.

Mega Evolutions are a vexing addition to the series, kinda cool and giving some Pokemon a second chance but also poorly balanced and it took actual evolutions away from some Pokemon that could have used one. I also think the Mega Evos are why there aren't as many new Pokemon this gen. Also, the in-game difficulty was toned down too much, so it's not really satisfying.

Overall, the sum of the parts combined create a bland experience that I think is still one of the weaker titles. Maybe they'll do better next time during their next go in Kalos.

A curious case inside the franchise.

You can tell they were excited to fully use the 3D, but the practically unexisting story and the stupidly easy difficulty makes this a not so great game.

This game is a little mediocre compared to the DS games, still it brought all the Pokémons to 3D and remade all of their sprites and models, it also brought us a new type and the mega evolutions! so...I guess thats something?
