Well that was a surprisingly long end credits for a game that was given away for free on April Fools'. Hope you can afford to be giving away full-fledged video games free of charge Sega!

So yes, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, a sporadically amusing and pleasingly self-aware visual novel, that unfortunately decides to morph into more of a half-baked platformer towards the end. The cast here is probably the most charming Sonic's ragtag band of shitty friends have ever been. The writing is fairly sharp, Tails, Rouge and the like enjoy some good-natured banter with each other and the mock-murder mystery itself has some intrigue... in a Danganronpa-for-kids kind of way.

But yeah, then the twist happens and it all enters some fairly familiar Sonic the Hedgehog territory. The power of friendship triumphing over evil and all that shite. The game is definitely better the further away it strays from being a typical Sonic game.

Don't know why they made the conductor's wife weirdly attractive. Not sure how I feel about that. I predict Rule34 aplenty.
