Like the PS1, I've never really tried any PSP games. As for tradition, I'll start with a launch title and while this probably isn't the most interesting choice, I'm glad I tried it. I should point out that I've never played Darkstalkers in my life until this game.

Now this isn't really a PSP game in some ways as it's apparently a port of a Dreamcast title. But it's got a lot of content here as you can explore the three Darkstalkers games available with the whole cast from what was current at the time which is quite cool. So you know what that means guys actually wait you don't but I get to play Bulleta the whole time cause she's hype.

I'm not really a fighting game expert like not even close but this was pretty fun to play, I like the attacks and the speed of it all. There's a lot of creative looking characters and attacks done here. It all flows really well together. I'm not sure how balanced this game is but I played by myself so it doesn't really matter. There is an online mode but I was playing on an emulator so obviously that's impossible to use. I wonder how good the netcode was.

This game also has a a tower mode where you clim the tower fighting more and more with three characters until you are all out. Despite making what I thought was a good amount, I somehow only did 8%. Yeah I'm kind of bad. This is how you collect concept art which is pretty cool. I do like how there's some challenges like disabling a few moves for a fight.

There's also a chronicle that has all the art you have obtained from the tower, you also can listen to music and you can even look at any ending from the three games but you do have to unlock them.

What's here is a fun package for fighting game fans and while the PSP isn't the best for controls, it can still be pretty fun. I guess after playing this I can say this series gets a thumbs up for me. Also now Bulleta is one of my favorite fighting game characters, easy top 10. A nice way to start off playing PSP games for sure.
