the music drowned out by the sound of bullets.
the war of styles for the war of covers.

For some reason, several rappers have shown to have a fairly strong relationship with video games, or maybe it is the rappers' own public that has that relationship and ends up joining both things, I don't know.
def jam icon or wu tang clan shaolin style are fighting games that got a more violent fantasy, a collage of martial arts and Asian cultures mixed with black culture, and it makes sense to me.
I am not going to stop to explain the connection among some hip hop or bboying artists, (maybe this movie can help as an entry point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqW15TUzPc8 )but their relationship with martial arts cinema was key to developing styles and establishing schools and competitions,

Now then, what is this game? Why is the 50 cent and the ultra militarized G-unit shooting soldiers in the Middle East? Why does everything look like anti-jihadist weapons propaganda?

It can be very interesting, but I don't get it.

great writeup ard 👍 your discussion on the relationship between genre and rapper is i think really valuable and its definitely framing how ive been playing through this game...but i do kind of love it all the same, suffice to say if wu tang is an appropriate vehicle for a martial arts game then blood on the sand occupies a very similar niche imo, although its expressed completely differently and has far more to do with wider culture as well... but its difficult to articulate fully what i mean by this at the moment and i dont think its intention is to be subversive necessarily

as always, thanks for the kind words Drigo! I would love to read your thoughts on this game when you finish it, because my text is not a review, but an open question for everyone who plays it It was curious that I could not establish any relationship between the 50 cent figure and the construct that the game presents, beyond that I only see sense within a small window within the 21st century. Besides, these days I have been experiencing certain works of fiction related to post 9/11 fear and I don't know whether to relate this game to that
