A fine enough Arcade delivery game, where the challenge levels don't need more than a slight push to be achieved and the story levels are wraps for throwaway pop culture jokes. If you only consider the gameplay, Pizza Titan Ultra is pretty forgettable.

What makes this game so endearing is the full-hearted pursuit of the pizza delivery mecha. Stomping cities? Check. Flying and fighting? Check. GUNDAM reference? Check? Giant laser for no damn reason? It's even kind of useful! If you're feeling heady, you can even follow this genuineness to interesting interpretive places. Why is the artistic act of cooking the pizza done exclusively by machine? Did the developers really expect people to play the same 8 levels for 30 hours? What happened to Breakfall anyways?

Games like Pizza Titan Ultra are beautiful. Not because they're pushing the medium so much, but because they pursue the idea of what they're aiming for with so little reservation that you can feel the soul left behind in what would otherwise be left in the bargain bin.

Good buy if you're into mechs.
