The series proceeded to imitate the modern anime-inspired JRPG stereotypes of its time with Wild Arms 4, that essentially stripped itself of any wild west DNA and therefore abandoned their only selling point. Each facet, from its characters to its story, from its dialogue to its tool system, seemed to exist as a soulless rendition of their past games. At least the hexagonal battle system was an interesting take on tactical combat.
