Pretty much like the first game. Maps are bigger and a bit confusing to navigate. Rope arrows are a great addition and I didn't like that they ignored the supernatural element of the first in favor of steampunk

Most supernatural creatures from Dark Project are present in this game, spooky locations are here, too. Also rope arrows are not an addition, they were in DP. And yes, as Salohcin pointed out, there is a reason the mechanical motif took over dark fantasy.
