Replaying this on ultra violence REALLY made me appreciate it more; the game feels much more meatier, faster and overall more solid, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the difficulty the game was built around.

Which is wild considering that UV is almost universally the most fun difficulty to play on lol
I believe modders tend to design levels for UV primarily since there's an assumption that if you've played enough DOOM to start getting into custom maps, you're used to UV
