I think this is probably one of the weaker Expansions, at least from a narrative standpoint. The whole expac feels like a filler arc, until about halfway through where things actually start to happen. I have no problems with our character taking a backseat to let the side cast shine, but Wuk Lumat is just not that interesting of a character for me. If she had a little bit more buildup instead of being shoved into the patch before DT's launch, I think most people including myself would like her a bit better. I was however super interested in the other two Promises, and I'm hoping that patch content gives us more insight into the Promise's younger years, especially Zarool Ja.
From a gameplay standpoint, this expansion has some of the most fun dungeons and trials yet, I'm very excited to see what the standard and alliance raids look like. A lot of the locales you actually get to visit are very nice, and I'm a huge fan of the last two areas of the expansion. All I could think of the entire time I was in the last area was "this is literally Kingdom Hearts 2 Twilight Town."
TL;DR Expac's kind of on the weaker side narratively, but one of the best in terms of dungeons and trials.
