I love the world, combat, and interconnected map, but this game really is only made for people who get a kick out of surpassing difficult things. I never feel any accomplishment for finishing a boss I struggled with to have any drive to push forward. The positives don't make up for frustration and I don't feel rewarded to want to chase that high.

As someone who loves this game and considers it maybe his favourite game of all time, I think your point of view is entirely fair. If you have no enjoyment from beating its challenges, I can see how this game wouldn't hook you.

Bear in mind that this game is a bit rough around the edges, maybe one of the more recent From software games (elder ring, maybe) could be a more rewarding experience for a non-die hard fan.
