It's shit. Everyone always says "Oh it's boring but the level design is great!" and I don't see what is great about it. It feels like every single idea is something I've seen before, and every single one of those ideas is done better elsewhere. This is such a nothing experience. There were almost no levels in this game up to where I quit that I thought were enjoyable. The soundtrack is obnoxious to the point that I was getting irritable playing mediocre levels and I had to hear "BAH BAH" over and over again.

I've already come to terms with not wanting to play NSMB or NSMB Wii again because I expect with games like Mario Maker and the oversaturation of the New games that they've likely aged poorly, but this is the 4th game in the New series and you'd expect that they'd have come up with something better than whatever this is.

The only reason I wouldn't score it lower is because it's at least sterile. It's functional at every point. It's just joyless and has literally nothing to add to the series
