I knew Doom 2016 was good but I didn't know it was THIS good. The developers 100% succeeded in making you feel like an unstoppable demon killing nightmare. The body language of the slayer, the demons ferocity, the horrible gory deaths they can suffer at your hands. It's all incredible. The slayer is weighty but fun to control and the level design you do that on is well done.
The combat is pulse pounding and definitely the biggest draw of this game but it surprised me that some of my favorite moments was just looking at the beautiful scenery after a tough battle. Mars and Hell look breathtaking at times. Hell has fittingly metal album looking environments and even the facilities themselves are impressive. Gore drenched corridors with blinking lights have the perfect moody ambiance and the lead up to VEGA's core looks right out of a big budget sci fi movie.
It's clear to me everyone involved in this game had a vision and I believe they knocked it out of the park. Definitely grab this if you like first person shooters!
