It's astonishing that this game is nearly 10 years old and has been a constantly reliable source of entertainment for me and the family for that time. The booster course pack has not only bolstered that, but reinvigorating it as well.

Now, as with the base game itself, not every course is great, but the whole package in itself is fantastic. Its basically twice as much MK8, for half the price. The new characters was a neat touch, adding even more variety, along with the plethora of additional Mii costumes, all a nice treat.

Although I'm not a big fan of the MK Tour circuits, I'm happy they are there, because there's no way I'm downloading the mobile game. There's a lot of additions that I've loved, particularly the more drifty tracks. I love getting a perfect run on Mario Circuit 3. We're probably only a few tracks away from being Mario Kart Ultimate. Even the poorest tracks are fun to play, although I have actually enjoyed a lot more of them in mirror mode, which was weird. I guess it just adds that little bit more of variety to it, but there's just so much keeping this old horse going, it's pretty unbelievable.

And we get a music player too! I get to annoy the neighbours with N64 Rainbow Road on repeat now!

Released in stages, this was an adequate addition. As an overall package, a fantastic, thoughtful and exciting Mario Kart 8.5.
