I was a fan of the original Dead Space and Dead Space 2 (I never played 3, can't comment on it).

I always thought, as a fan of the horror genre, it was a great entry with a fresh setting and fresh take on combat in a genre that was slowly turning into bullet-sponge third-person action shooters.

I thought the first game still held up well, and there really wasn't any need for a remake.

What makes this Dead Space remake great is that it doesn't replace the original, but still provides a familiar, yet fresh experience to our first trip to the Ishimura.

Visually, mechanically, artistically, the team at Motive really pulled off something special in bringing this cult classic to the current generation of consoles, all with the bells and whistles of modern console gaming (4k, ray-tracing, haptic feedbacks, adaptive triggers, etc.).

Dead Space 2023 did what Resident Evil 2 (2019) achieved during that games release. For any fan of horror, this is a must-play.
