There's a very easygoing quality to the gameplay here; I'm not just talking about the Quake-ish shooting, but also the sprawling environments and bright visuals. That said, as the game goes on, there's a feeling of samey-ness that begins to pervade every improvised combat arena, every scripted rush of enemies. Though the game attempts to ratchet up the scale and methods of destruction, the staleness eventually had me pulling up podcasts to listen to as I closed in on the end of the game.
