Although Tacoma does not have quite the emotional impact of Gone Home, it tells a compelling story about corporate greed in a rather realistic space setting in the year 2088. I love how the developers tell their story mostly through environmental clues, and sometimes it just takes one hidden letter or a well-placed object to evoke emotions and if u take ur time getting to know the characters and their small little stories u can't help but feel empathetic for everyone of them. Again, I like the song choices that make certain moments much more memorable. I can't wait to dive deeper into the tracks, just like I did with Gone Home, where I discovered bands such as Le Tigre and Bikini Kill. I'm quite eager to see what they have in store with their next game called Open Roads.

I really loved Tacoma, and I think at first glance I too thought it was slightly less impactful than Gone Home. However after I sat with it a while, I think it really tells a grounded and human sci-fi story that a lot of games just would not be able to pull off. I'm skeptical about Open Roads give the dramas that the studio has faced over the last few years, but here's hoping they can pull off another great game. More people need to play Tacoma.

totally agree with you I appreciate the rather down-to-earth characters as well. I read about the drama just yesterday, but if I understood correctly, everyone except one founder, who was mostly responsible for it, left Fullbright to work on the title with the backing of Annapurna, so there is hope, i guess. Also, Keri Russell, whom I adored in The Americans, will work as a voice actor on Gone Roads which is pretty cool.
