Every time I put my baby to bed, one of the songs I sing him is the very Irish "On Raglan Road", and every time I do, I have an intrusive thought of this game, which I used to play at a local pizzeria my mom would take me to thirty-ish years ago. One time, that place had some kind of an Irish night(?) that we happened to be there during (or maybe my mom specifically wanted to go to) and there were a bunch of fun, presumably Irish people eating and drinking and taking turns singing cool Irish songs to the room (not Raglan Road, but definitely "Danny Boy" at least). I don't think I played ROADBLASTERS that night (too crowded), but now, for close to no reason, my brain associates Irish songs to it (but inexplicably not SAMURAI SHODOWN or MS. PAC-MAN, which also had cabinets there), so every night I'm up there with the baby thinking, "man, that car game was cool, I should get that for MAME". And then by the time he's asleep and I go downstairs to finally play some video games, I totally forget about it. Well today I remembered.

Pretty cool arcade game. I still can't get very far.

Also, the sound when you insert a coin is the Harold Faltermeyer deep bell from the Top Gun theme and that rules.
