This is game 4/71 of my backlog!
This is also the only VR game on my backlog, which is probably good considering my right controller's B button stopped working when playing this, ig I'll have to wait till next year to get a quest 3

I'd like to separate this review into two sides: technical and actual gameplay

I'll start with the technical side:

This sucks. All the textures are extremely low resolution, the models seem to have been taken directly from the pcvr version, but then thrown into blender's decimate feature and spit out like that, you can specially see this in the plushies and in the ending where there's polygons where they really shouldn't be.
Lighting is indeed atmospheric, but it looks damn bad.
Now, I do have to remind myself, this was released on the quest 1, not the quest 2 (which still doesn't excuse the bad graphics considering this port had a HUGE development time) but like... Why haven't they released a quest 2 upgrade? Actually a lot of quest-compatible games do this, why are you limiting this XR2 when it can deliver far higher fidelity? Anyways rant over.

As for the gameplay...

It's nice. It's spooky, but I have a few gripes with it, particularly, FNAF 2 has really finicky small buttons to press, which just doesn't seem to work the best in VR, and the mask is also a bit of an ass... Sometimes I'll put it on when I don't want to, and sometimes I'll NOT put it on when I'm clearly smashing my face into it.

As for the others... It's mostly just game design I'm really concerned about, the dark rooms Funtime foxy level tells you to "not use the beacon too frequently" yet, using the beacon frequently after a few steps is the key to beating the level, pretty weird over all.

But outside of those negatives, well, I'd say it's a damn good horror game, you know why this is in my backlog? Because I goddamn shat myself and quit off the game every other time I tried, but this time I HAD to do it, so I had no choice.
And that's with me being a pretty fearless guy in terms of horror, I suppose being in VR steps it up a notch, or two.

Also the ending I was aware of much before I ever even played this game, so it wasn't a surprise, but it's still fairly cool to say I saw it, it's interesting... Oh and I didn't go for all tapes or nothing like that, no man got time for that stuff dawg, I've got 67 other games to play!

Final thoughts... You can choke on the action figures 10/10 would choke again.
