Had been hoping to get my hands on this one for a while! An Atari 2600 text adventure, Dark Mage is simply put a marvel to exist at all, but it's quaint and well communicated as well, conquering the platform's hurdles well. A few Douglas Adams jokes here, a little bit of fairytale logic there a, boom, you have one of the most memorable 2600 homebrew titles out there.
The biggest gripe (if you can call it that), which I'll warn hopeful players about here: you HAVE to remember to click TAKE on items offered to you. It'll be second nature to a lot of text adventure folks, but keep it in mind if it wouldn't have occurred to you.
