My first entry to the whole Megami Tensei franchise, and I don't regret it a bit.
Although the dated gameplay (on the SNES version at least) can be annoying, Shin Megami Tensei shines by its very atmospheric world and the story which will also be the foundation of all the next SMT games. Exploring this dark world where ideologies clashed and seeing demons from various folklores was a very interesting experience and it made me fall in love with the franchise.
