One of the first JRPGs I ever played and the second one I've finished.
This game's vibes, OST, and Gameplay is Fantastic.
The weaker cast of out the P3 P4 AND P5 but still some highlights especially when it's certain party member's time to shine I think they all do really good, this game has a problem with treating its characters like very poorly after there huge struggle is over.
I think most of the honeymoon phase is over for me but a lot of people like to chalk a lot of the problems to the game falls off after palace 1 and I can totally agree with the fact that it's literally one of the peak moments in the game but I think Palace 4 easily as good in other ways and my personal favorite was 6 and tbh I just think Palace 3 and 5 are the lowest points but there was always something good happening on the side. Palace 7 is honestly fairly weak as well but the Shido fight is a highlight and they do a good job at building him up to be completely fucked. Palace 8 was pretty cool though, Probably not the best ending ever but It had to exist and I enjoyed it, I thought it was better than palace 7.
But I think Royal makes up for a lot of the game flops, Not by fixing them but by making better content that's after the fact that's on par with Palace 1, 4, and 6. and It's a huge reason why I can be critical of most of the main story of P5 nowadays.
