It is always hard to find the right time to review games without an acutal ending to it. After playing 2 Seasons and completing all the Steam achievements I think I have played enough of it to give my hones thoughts.

I started playing in Season 4 and had a lot of fun from the get go. However, it was very clear this game is pay to win and it especially showed in the weekly season challenges, cause you sometimes needed expensive/rare racers to even complete it all. The ranked system was and is to this day very pay to win as well and the only reason to even play ranked is to get Shards for your racers.

While I do think the core gameplay is very fun and well done, the tracks are great and the music is really cool as well, what's frustrating is that this is basically a "collect it all" game more than a racing game.

The team behind Speedstorm changed a lot of things ahead of Season 5 and made it easier to obtain upgrade parts and new racers, but the longer the season went on the more it felt just like before. I really had no motivation to get better or play ranked and show my "skill" because I knew all I had to do was get my racers to 4 stars and unlock the best Crew members to win. I never really knew how good I really am at the game and how much is just the stats of my racers.

I would recommend this to people who love collecting stuff and love Disney. It is fun for sure and as long as you set your expectations right you can have a good time with it. I will probably stop playing after Season 5 unless some big changes can pull me back in.
