This was one of the better light gun rail shooters I played at the arcade last week, though I'm not really sure that's saying much. The booth is well lit, the sound design inside the booth sells the action quite well, and the plastic elevator doors in the booth as you move between floors are a nice little touch. It also runs quite well (60 FPS, I did not notice any frame drops during my session) and has pretty crisp and colorful graphics compared to most of its competition. It unfortunately suffers from the same problem as a lot of modern light gun rail shooters; you're often faced with this relentless assault of things to mow down on screen, and with no recourse on how to prevent damage from things automatically firing bullets at you, only the ability to mitigate some damage by taking them down as quickly as possible. This is made even tougher if you're playing single player, as quite a few of the events on screen require you to shoot several hurtboxes as quickly as possible, and unless you have the premonition/reaction of the gods you will most likely not be able to burn through all the hurtboxes all by yourself before taking damage. Finally, the light gun's trigger was rather stiff for some reason and really required a tight grip (not fun on the hands for extended sessions), and the ending is super abrupt and unsatisfying. Decent atmosphere and presentation overall, but the gameplay still feels lacking when compared to older light gun arcade cabinets such as the Time Crisis series.
