Quirky as its succesor but a million times harder. The game boasts an incredible charming, rural american asthetic and the music is catchy, varied and fitting. For setting and atmosphere and tone alone it's one of the most interesting gams on the system however it is also one of the most difficult, often by weird reasons. Some areas can be life or death depending on gear, yet you are able to buy the best defensive gear the moment you get to the second town provided you grind enough, back to back dungeons can be full of fodder to the hardest hitting enemies and a lot of terrain in the overworld exists only to be enjoyed on exploration.
I consider the wide openess of the game a plus, as it really feels like a cross country adventure, struggles and all. Personally I found the game engaging from beginning to end yet I admit the harsh sections could be a filter.
Overall one of my favorite experiences, quirks included.

oh and fuck duncan's factory.
