Retro Bowl is kind of perfect at what it's going for, but I was left wanting a bit more. The passing mechanic is an improvement over Techmo Bowl, but not being able to choose your plays or play defense may feel limiting to some.

I can't blame the developers for not having an NFL license, but having real players and teams along with better stat tracking through the season mode would have also gone a long way.

It's definitely a fun way to spend a few hours but is more of a diversion than it is the football game the Switch has been desperately missing.
