Guardians of the Galaxy was clearly made with a great deal of love for its characters, but as a game, it didn't work for me.

The gameplay, particularly combat, is clunky and grows tired quickly. The environments often felt like generic sci-fi locations, save for the first visit to Nowhere, which was the highlight of the game for me.

The characters are well-written and acted, but completing the levels was often a slog. The impressively licensed soundtrack and clever dialogue are a lot of fun at first, but once the novelty wears off, the game felt like a mediocre third-person action game.
