Tales of the Neon Sea drew me in because of the neon steampunk futuristic vibe. I loved all the colors, the storytelling with robots and humans trying to live together. The wide cast of characters. It's not a very long game, so the characters don't get fleshed out very much but I think it works well for the story.
The gameplay is split between talking sequences and puzzles. These puzzles vary a lot in difficulty and some of them feel very trial and error, but none of them was so hard that I couldn't figure it out myself after a couple tries.
There are a few puzzles that involve death, which i didn't really like, but i feel like they were well enough done and they put you back right instatly where you were, so they weren't painful to do.
Switching between our detective rex main guy and the cat william was a fun twist to switch up the pace a little during the game.
It's not very long and it leaves a lot of things in the open, and deals with a lot of heavy subjects where i feel like not everything got explored enough. I just wanted more.
There is a lot of dialogue and text reading in this game, so if you dislike that stay clear otherwise it's a recommend for anyone who likes the look of the game and puzzles
