I got this game back when it came out in April, but I ended up putting it down for a few months because Tears of the Kingdom came out shortly after. I got most of the way through Jedi Survivor before my break, and just finished it over the past few days. Combat was a lot of fun in this game just like it was in Fallen Order. It really just took the already good combat from that game and expanded upon it. I ran through the game using blaster and dual wield stances on grandmaster difficulty, and I felt like that was the perfect combo. Exploration is also really fun and rewarding. There is a real incentive to explore because each optional path often leads to an extra skill point, a new perk, or at the very least a cool new cosmetic. Also, the lightsaber customization was really cool, it was a lot of fun to make my own with such an in depth system. The parkour was really great too. It just feels fun to move Cal around and run off walls while dashing through the air. Puzzles were well designed and interesting as well. Despite my praise, there are a decent amount of problems that hold the game back too. First of all, side quests become kind of bland and repetitive after a while. A lot of side quests just lead to secret bosses that often times end up being a reskin of a random enemy or boss you've already beaten. I enjoyed the story for the most part ,but there was one character that ruined a decent chunk of it for me. Dagan Gera was just so over the top evil and needlessly
edgy that it made any cutscene he was in impossible to take seriously. His lines of dialogue during combat and force echoes were insanely cringe. Also, the glitches and performance issues really broke my emersion. Even all these months later, the game still has these issues that haven't been patched out. One of the biggest problems I faced were the massive slowdowns to mid combat cutscenes, which is really upsetting, because otherwise the cutscenes would have been so cool. Overall though, I had a good time with the game, but I can't tell if I like it better than Fallen Order or not.
