Top 10 favourite films but games.

I'm not a big film person and I mean outside of the top 4 I'm not confident these are my top 10 and not all films have a game related to their franchise for me to list but I like them all anyway. I like Sci-fi and nothing new in the last 20 years is what I really took from this exercise....

Starship Troopers, hell yeah

@LordDarias - First film I went to the cinema to see twice. It's exceedingly dumb, campy and full of satire. I love it.

Needs more Blade Runner. But I do forgive you as you have the best action movie of last 25 years? here, The Mummy.

@mssq - I'm a little indifferent to a lot of Blade Runner except one part Rutger Hauer which was master class.

@FallenGrace - Funnily enough I don't disagree with you on the original but I do think that 2049 is a masterpiece.

the last 20 years in film have been pretty bleak – at least, as far as big blockbuster hits are concerned. One of my top three movies of all time, Drive My Car, came out in 2021. It's no different from games: there's excellent stuff from every year if you look in the right places!

@mssq - I must admit I haven't seen 2049 yet! I agree with what you said about the Mummy though, I have seen it so many times and it just doesn't get old for me which is one of my criteria for this list really. It's got great action, characters and is hilarious.

@Funbil - I just don't watch films or TV much anymore to be honest. I spend pretty much my spare time gaming with friends or sleeping when not at work so I am sure I have missed out on a ton of amazing films. I watch some animation here and there as it keeps my interest more than live action the last 4-5 years.

It probably doesn't work for this list, but have you played the first Riddick game? Blew my mind when it came out; still holds up IMO.

8 of these films are my favorites from my younger days. Love it! The rest I haven't watched yet, but plan to.

@CowboyJosh - It would make the cut if I extended the list for sure. I do like all 3 Riddick movies.

@Detectivefail - Which are the two you haven't seen? I'm going to guess....Ghost in the Shell and The Mummy? 🤔

@FallenGrace Ghost in the shell yeah and Starship Troopers. Former I actually watched the Hollywood version... which was uh interesting to say the least. But still want to see the 1995 film.

@Detectivefail - The animated film is great and had huge influence that is still felt today. The Matrix took a lot from it for a start. Definitely recommend it. Let's not talk about the live action version 😂
