Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was far better than I had expected it to be. The combat is as simple as I had expected it to be, and I never died during my entire playthrough, but everything melded together in such a way that it REALLY MADE ME FEEL like I was THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. The soundtrack was also top-notch. It was never as good as the movie soundtrack, but I loved hearing Wham playing over the carnage. This game was a pleasant surprise. If the rest of the Marvel games are at least this good, we might have to be ready to expect Marvel to take over the video game space, too. I wouldn't mind that, personally.
