This was the surprise I didn't know I wanted but I'm glad I got it. When Bethesda randomly released a Quake remaster on Xbox Game Pass, I was just expecting a solid DOOM-like FPS game. And sure, it was, but this is a game that I've gotten so much replayability out of (I've played it six times at the time of this writing). As far as games in the style of DOOM, this is one of the best ones, with some of the most memorable level design and gunplay. It's a boatload of fun made better by the great remastering, and I also highly recommend playing through the campaign with a friend. Made the experience (and the expansions) that much sweeter.
