Bio
Playing videogames since childhood. Mostly Nintendo games as they are what I grew up with.

I hope people understand my reviews are based on my subjective opinion and experience and I don't want to diminish the effort, time and love the developers may have put into their games.

Beat the game, completed the Dex and thought of trying a Battle Tower mode because I've always wanted to beat it but putting in so much time to make a team has always been a chore for me but, luckily, this game makes it so much easier to build a competitive team but, unlucky, no Battle Tower.

The game is pretty... lacking? I don't know what to say because the world was very boring for me, it felt like a huge sandbox with nothing standing out particularly. You can do the gyms in any order but there isn't any level scaling to that.

The story is the same thing, bad guys, beat 'em and gym challenge, beat the gym leaders but they packed the game with interesting lore to areas in the world. The evil team has an interesting story to tell this tike around like in Sun and Moon and their bosses can be challenging if it gets out of hands.

I was happily surprised by how they put more focus on building the world's lore and through the finale of the game, after you beat the Champion, you get an other-worldy story experience such of any good crafted JRPG that I was enjoying so much.

Sadly, the game taking so long to tell me something interesting at the very end of the game doesn't make up to the three main arcs being repetitive and the world being uninteresting.

They make competitive team build easier with each game but it always seems they're taking smalls steps and never adding any in-game encyclopedia to understand competitive so you will always have to seek it out yourself on the internet, it's silly.

Music is lit, as always with Pokémon games.

The game is heavily inspired on The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past and it does a good job being its own thing but I have my complaints with it.

This games has lore and the main hub area (the castle) plus NPCs scattered across the world provide with lore to add to the liveliness of the world which is a really good thing.

The story is straightforward in order to let you play straightaway, nice.

My problem with the game is the movement and the controls scheme. The way the main characters moves around is somewhat sluggish and, when she swings the sword, it feels like she's slipping on the floor which make me feel uncomfortable when attacking. She feels unsteady and slippery which has made me take damage at times that annoy me.

In addition to the slipperiness, the way you can arrange the controls is nice as an option but it doesn't work for me because it becomes a mess. Why is the attack button the same button to interact with your environment and NPCs? It's a nitpicky thing, I must admit.

The dungeons are cool and long, no complaints in the slightest, plus they feel so rewarding to complete and the bosses are challenging.

The soundtracks is fine, I don't have much to say about it.

I didn't finish the game because I personally got tired of the controls and replaying it again later over time to catch up where I left it isn't in my plans.

It is a nice game for those who will not have problems such as mine. Enjoy your time with it! I did until I didn't.

It is a perfect mixture of freedom to choose the order to tackle the dungeons after you have beaten the first half of the game and acquired the Master Sword.

It puts you straight to the gameplay as they decided to focus way more into the freedom you want to approach areas and the dungeons have a smart design in which all of them feel doable and there isn't any particular difficulty spike as it is quite friendly for all kinds of players. Don't let your guard down in Hero Mode, though.

One key thing you must remind whenever you feel stuck somewhere is to remember that you have the merging mechanic, when you don't know what to do and your items don't work, merge must be the solution for most cases.

The music is amazing and high quality as you can expect and I can't say much more for this games, it wonderfully acomplishes what it sets out to do.
