Namco X Capcom is the first game in Monolithsofts crossover series, which unfortunately never got an official English release in the West. Gladly, there is an English fan translation, which gave me the opportunity to play it.
The whole crossover aspect is great, it's really nice to see your favorite characters interact with each other. As a Xenosaga fan, seeing Shion, MOMO and KOS-MOS was awesome. That's something I really love about Monolithsofts crossover games, you really get to see the characters interact in a story, as opposed to other crossover games, where you have mostly a fighting game, without seeing the characters really interact with each other.

Graphics:
Graphically speaking, the game looks really good, the sprites look beautiful, and the overall areas also look pretty good. Of course, it isn't the best looking game on the PS2, but for what it is, I think they've done a great job.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is pretty good, but it can become quite repetitive. Overall, you encounter enemies, then have to fight them, more enemies spawn, you again have to kill all of them, and then again, the story progresses. I'm totally fine with that and even like it, but it can be exhausting if you have to do it too often, and with 45 chapters, I think this game is too long and can become too repetitive. But you can see that they have improved on that aspect in the other crossover games that came after this one.

Story and Characters:
The story was overall quite interesting, but again became a bit repetitive. The characters are definitely the best aspect, Reiji and Xiaomu are awesome protagonists, and I totally love them. I'm glad they returned for Project X Zone 2 as protagonists, and if there ever is another crossover game from Monolithsoft, I hope they'll return for it as protagonists.

Overall, I think this is a really nice game, if you played Project X Zone 1 or 2, it's for sure worth checking this game out, and I would like to see another crossover game from Monolithsoft in the future!
