An intriguing and well put together interactive novel serving as a visual representation of the seminal H.P. Lovecraft short story, with a generous amount of less-known trivia sprinkled in, which will be interesting reading material for fans of the mythos.

It's pretty to look at and pretty to listen to, with good music and excellent reading. The issue is its brevity (about a half hour if you really take your time) and lack of interaction. The former issue is inevitable, considering how short the story is, but there were ways in which they could have squeezed more out of it: allowing the player to walk around the scenes instead of being locked in place would have gone a long way towards adding play time and making this more engaging to boot.

Just about the only thing resembling gameplay is the search for hidden symbols which unlock the aforementioned trivia snippets. It's fine but they could have given the player more freedom to walk towards the mountain themselves, taking in the scenery, and listening to narration as they went, and it would have made the experience far more immersive.

Worth a playthrough or two for Lovecraft fans, especially considering it is free.
