Nintendo once again demonstrating that they have the best level designers in the industry with Captain Toad. The game is solid all-around, offering a great showcase of varied and interesting puzzles all wrapped in a lively diorama aesthetic.

A key feature of this game is the zoomed out camera, which allows for players to rotate an entire level to get a better view of obstacles and collectables. Nintendo makes great use of this mechanic, although it does at times demand some physical coordination from the player. Captain Toad is no precision platformer, but managing camera controls alongside a touch/gyroscopic pointer can be overwhelming, especially when bullet bills are in the mix.

Despite this, the game makes excellent use of many of the Switch's unique features. I didn't get to play around with Amiibo and Labo support, but being there at all is a pretty darn cool. Captain Toad is an all-around great fit for the system, particularly in handheld mode.
