Una aventurilla muy simpática llena de ideas graciosas y creativas que se ve lastrada por ser quizá excesivamente simple para lo que esperarías de un RPG.
Funciona como puerta de entrada al género a gente, pero es demasiado sencillo y plano para gente con más experiencia con estas cosas. Al menos no es demasiado largo, así que no llega a hacerse tedioso.
Quizá la peor parte son las secciones de plataformeo, que funcionan FATAL por lo malos que son los controles de movimiento. El resto es como mínimo simpático, así que se le puede perdonar que tenga la profundidad de un charco en lo jugable.
La historia no es nada del otro mundo, pero los diálogos son divertidos y se nota que aquí se establecieron los fundamentos de los siguientes RPGs protagonizados por Mario y compañía, así que es interesante de ver.
Me ha gustado, pero esperaba bastante más por lo bien que hablaba la gente de él. Supongo que es hijo de su época y no se puede juzgar con los estándares de ahora.

A very nice adventure, full of funny and creative ideas that's dragged down for being perhaps excessively simple for what you'd expect an RPG to be.
It works as a first step into the genre for people, but it's too shallow for people more experienced with this genre. At least it's not too long, so it doesn't become tedious.
Perhaps the worst part are the platforming sections, which are AWFUL due to how bad the movement is. The rest is, at the very least, quite charming, so I can forgive it being as deep as a puddle in terms of gameplay.
The story is nothing to write home about, but the dialogues are fun and you can tell this is the backbone of the next RPGs starring Mario and company, so it's interesting to see.
I liked it, but I expected a lot more considering how highly people spoke of it. I guess it's a game of its time and it can't really be judged under today's standards.
