People keep saying that this game is more fun in multiplayer and I strongly disagree. Unlike Mario 3D World, it's almost impossible for players to directly interact with each other. You almost can't contribute to each other's successes or become each other's downfall. It feels like whoever has the camera is setting the pace of the game, and whoever else is there is basically just getting the extra coins and politely waiting for their turn to have the camera. The game is fun in single player, but in multiplayer it feels like you're just asking your friends to sit next to you on the couch and watch you play. Worse, the drumroll when you ground pound, the power up appearing noise, and especially the voices of the flowers feel patronizing and juvenile so it's hard to feel comfortable making a friend watch you play bing bing wahoo.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. Alone. With headphones.
