Looking back at the first Alan Wake after finishing it's sequel it's crazy how far different it felt. While not a bad game it definitely had it's super repetitive moments and quite a bit of needless combat. The story is enjoyable and I do like the "Remedyverse" a lot, especially after playing Control. If you're jumping into this after playing the sequel then prepare for a rough ride.
