I remembered playing this game as a child at the dentist, of all places. Never got past the third stage, either because I wasn't good enough, or because the appointment ended and I went home. After beating it (with save states) as a grown-ass adult, yeah no I wasn't missing much.

Sprite work is clean and looks nice. I'm glad they went with the more cartoony 2D renders of the Monsters Inc universe, it's always been a charming style to me. Also, the music in this game is great. Like, weirdly good.

As for the game itself, bad. Tons of instakill hazards, screen crunch, invisible checkpoints that are too few and far between, and the jumping feels way too stiff for any amount of precision you might want while playing.

Childhood curiosity satiated, banger OST acquired, everything else discarded.
