Back in the days of the Playstation 1, I played Final Fantasy VIII, although I never managed to finish it. In 2015, I decided to revisit the game with the goal of finally completing it. Surprisingly, it took me longer than anticipated, as I only accomplished that feat three years later from when I initially started. But I did it! I enjoyed the game overall (the extended duration was not due to any dislike for it), although my personal favorite remains Final Fantasy VII. The game's soundtrack, once again, stands out as a delightful piece of art, even beyond the context of the game itself.
Final Fantasy VIII marked the last installment in the series that truly captivated my interest to play. From that point onward, the style of the games shifted considerably and lost, at least for me, some of its appeal.
