An impressive step up from its predecessor in the Enigmatis series, The Mists of Ravenwood takes a solid foundation and improves in all areas. Most immediately noticeable is the reworked user interface and higher level of polish, but there's also a more nuanced and interesting plot and greater variety in puzzle design, all key areas for the hidden object genre. Somewhat frustrating achievement design means that you have to play through the game twice before you can call the game fully complete, but even then, experiencing the plot again with the knowledge of how the plot develops allows some details to stand out more than they do initially - and of course, it's always enjoyable to revisit the often beautiful graphics that feature throughout.
