Earthbound is a game I’ve had more trouble finishing than it’s modern spiritual successors (I really hope it’s fair to classify Undertale / Deltarune as such, feel free to crucify me), but I still appreciate a lot of things about Earthbound. The game felt particularly slow in some instances when it came to some difficult bosses and grinding, but the absurdity of the game really lends itself to making some really sincere and gut-wrenching plot moments. I like Earthbound a lot for what it is, but I really appreciate the impact it’s had on the wider gaming community by means of its cult following. We literally wouldn’t have things like Undertale or the Chuggaaconroy youtube channel without it. Thank you Shigesato Itoi!
