These are the definitive releases of the classic Sonic games. Sega finally releasing the Whitehead version of 1 and 2 on consoles (plus CD on current/last gen as opposed to stuck on 360/PS3), plus having part of the Mania team remaster 3K was great. There are a lot of glaring issues with each game that should not exist, especially with the games that were remastered a decade ago. But having all the classic games available in 16:9 HD/4K with a ton of enhancements, such as cutscenes that show the full story and bridge the games together make this the definitive version to play.

The missions included are a nice bonus. Some of the later ones can really test even hardcore Sonic fans.

Game Gear games are a nice addition, but the emulation for sound is bad. Fun to play for a minute, then probably not again. It would’ve been cool if Plus included a remastered (or hell, even just an emulated) version of Knuckles Chaotix, as I don’t believe it’s ever been rereleased.
