In all honesty, this game is not very good. It's unbalanced, buggy, and the campaign does the bare minimum in order to justify the fighting in this game. But man do I always have such a good time playing against another person and hearing the edgy one-liners said by my favourite Marvel heroes. Seriously, this game is a lot of fun when you have all of the characters unlocked and you're just chilling with friends. The singleplayer campaign got frustrating sometimes, particularly later in the game. In short, singleplayer is meh, but multiplayer is loads of fun. This game is at least worth a try with your friends.
