Really doesn't get better than this. This game mixes character action and rhythm games perfectly. Dynamic music is always a pleasure to see as well as keeping up combos for staying up to the rhythm. One thing is a big personal preference but being able to parry all attacks is so satisfying. Most games will let you parry most moves but not all for a variety of reasons, Hi-Fi Rush is bold enough to let you do it on all because it takes proper timing to do so and rewards you beautifully for successfully doing it.
Usually I'm not one to really get hyped over licensed music but they all fit the game's theme and world to warrant their inclusion, and if you really don't like it you can switch to original songs for it instead. Great to have that as an option.
Chai is the type of character to have only one brain cell in all the right ways, the characters all bounce off each other really well. I was afraid of this game being too quipy but it's all innocent dumb humor. Loved the cast by the end of it all
You never see the game of the year come out in Janurary but it did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
