This is a review of the NES version. I'm sure the arcade version is far better.
I'd give this game a 3 if it weren't for this sound design. It's so goddamn terrible, just a nonstop assault on your ears, and this game takes a little over an hour to beat, I think listening to this game for that long would give me a headache. Super loud and high pitched beeps berating your ears.
The gameplay itself is fine, it's your standard top down ship shooter, though quite primitive. There's 32 levels that I didn't bother going through, but I mean yeah man it's pretty straightforward on what the game is. Enemies can drop gun upgrades which is pretty cool.
The graphics are also pretty primitive and unimpressive but there's a lot happening on the screen so it's passable.
If you're gonna play the NES version, play it on mute.
