I enjoyed the atmosphere of the game and absolutely loved the message, but the way the characters talked was absolutely insufferable and really hampered my enjoyment of the game. I wasn't born in the 90's so I don't know if this is how people talked or not, but if they did...well, I'm glad I wasn't born in the 90's.
